Simplant View
Simplant View is free software that features advanced 3D viewing capabilities. The user can display the images and take basic measurements but cannot place virtual implants, modify a treatment plan, or order a surgical drill guide. Simplant View is a good way to communicate a treatment plan to the patient, a clinical colleague or a dental lab.
You cannot import CT or CBCT scans directly into Simplant View, they must be reformatted first. However, all Simplant datasets supplied by IDT Scans will open in Simplant View.
You can download Simplant View from .
Simplant Pro
Simplant Pro is the flagship Simplant product, designed for hospitals and large dental practices that wish to do their own reformatting work. Simplant Pro performs the important function of importing data directly from a CT or CBCT scanner, and has advanced segmentation tools to prepare that data for planning dental implants. Simplant Pro 18.5 (the latest version) contains tools to simulate bone grafts, and also incorporates modules for registering a scan prosthesis with the patient scan.
However, (as with Simplant Master) the Simplant Pro owner has to do the extra work to prepare each dataset. Depending on the requirements this can take from a few minutes to an hour or more per case. An alternative is to send the dataset to IDT Scans for Simplant Pro reformatting.
A trial copy of Simplant Pro can be downloaded from .
Simplant Planner
For practices placing a lot of implants, this is a cost-effective way of owning the Simplant software. You can plan an unlimited number of cases for a one-time licence fee.
CT or CBCT scans must be reformatted before they can be opened with Simplant Planner. The scanning site sends the CT data to IDT Scans where it is post-processed and reformatted. We then send the Simplant dataset to the dental practice over the internet via MailBigFile or secure FTP and the dentist uses Simplant to plan the case. The planned case can then be sent to the dental lab or to colleagues for discussion.
Once the plan is finalised a Surgical Drill Guide can be ordered through the Simplant software. If you wish to design your own guide, IDT can convert your Simplant planning file to make it compatible with Blue Sky Plan software.
Simplant Planner is no longer available to purchase, but if you already have a Simplant Planner licence, the software can be downloaded from . Please scroll down to find the version you need.
Simplant OneShot
This is a pay-as-you-go version of Simplant, designed for dental practices that place a limited number of dental implants per year. The software itself is free, but a licence fee is payable for each case it is used to plan.
Simplant OneShot has all the features of Simplant Planner. It can be used to plan implants and order a surgical drill guide.
CT or CBCT scans must be reformatted before they can be opened with Simplant OneShot.
Simplant OneShot can be downloaded from . The Implant Libraries can also be downloaded from Please scroll to the last page and download “Latest Implant Library”. The library file is very large and may take a long time to download.
Simplant Master
Simplant Master allows you to work completely in-house and provide your own independent CT scan reformatting service. Simplant Master can produce datasets for Simplant OneShot, Planner, GO and Pro, thus you can cater not only for your own needs but also provide a service to your colleagues as well.
Simplant Master is no longer available to purchase, but if you already have a Simplant Master licence, the software can be downloaded from . Please scroll down to find the version you need.
Simplant GO
Simplant Viewer Download
Simplant GO is entry-level user-friendly software optimised for ordering surgical guides. Simplant GO lacks the power and complexity of Simplant Planner, but it can take you through the Scan-Plan-Guide process very quickly. With its intuitive navigation and simple four-step process, Simplant GO is particularly easy to learn.
CT or CBCT scans must be reformatted before they can be opened with Simplant GO.

What are the system requirements for Simplant Planning Service?
Simplant Planning Service is accessible through PC, Apple, iPad and iPhone. The major internet browsers are supported (Internet Explorer 11, Firefox, Chrome and Safari).
How long does it take before I receive the planning proposal?
When all case data are available to Dentsply Sirona, the planning proposal will be ready for review in the next 2 working days. Each planning proposal and guide design has to be reviewed and can be modified in Simplant Editor before the surgical guide is manufactured at Dentsply Sirona.
How long does it take before I receive the Simplant Guide?
After approval of a Simplant plan, the Simplant Guide is manufactured and shipped in 48 hours. When you made changes to the Simplant plan, Dentsply Sirona will first verify that the Simplant Guide design is still possible for the changed Simplant plan. If the Simplant Guide design is no longer possible, Dentsply Sirona creates a revised planning proposal for which Guide design is possible again. This revised proposal is posted to your Simplant account for a final review and approval. This situation occurs for example when an implant is planned too close to a neighboring tooth. The revised plan should be reviewed and can be modified again by the clinician if needed. The Simplant Guide is then manufactured and shipped 48 hours after approval of the revised Simplant plan. In rare situations, it may occur that Simplant Guide design is not possible again after receiving the second revised plan. A Dentsply Sirona representative will then contact the customer to find a solution together with the clinician.
What if there is no sufficient bone to place implants?
When implants are requested at locations with low bone volume, the (CB)CT scan images will be posted to your Simplant account for review. Review the 2D images with Simplant Editor and make measurements to evaluate the bone width and height. After review, you can either:
Cancel the case. No case cost will be invoiced.
Choose this option if there is not enough bone to proceed with the case in a guided surgery manner.
Proceed the case
Choose this option if you want to proceed with the case in a guided surgery manner. Only after your confirmation to proceed, Dentsply Sirona will generate the 3D images of the case with planning proposal and guide design.
How to cancel a case?
A case can be cancelled by contacting Simplant Technical support. If the case is cancelled after an implant planning was made, a case cost will be invoiced.
If there is no sufficient bone to place implants the case can be cancelled without extra cost.
